On the ceiling of the octagonal library is a reproduction of the original trompe l’oeil ceiling painting.  Through a generous contribution by Miss Mary Wingfield Scott, this painted-on architectural effect was restored to the library walls and ceilings in 1965.  The four corner book shelves and the door were also restored using the technique of faux- graining.  The painting over the sideboard is by Archibald MacNeal Willard and is a portrait of his aunt.  Mr. Willard is best known for his painting The Spirit of ’76.  The bookshelves are filled with books written by past Club speakers, members, and local authors.
